The Whalebone Theatre

This is the story of an old crumbling manor house by the sea, of the three children who grew up there inventing adventures for themselves whilst the grown-ups held endless parties, of the worlds they imagine from the books they aren’t supposed to read, and the lessons they learn from eavesdropping. It’s the story of a whale that washes up on the beach and firing the imagination of a 12 year old girl, an unwanted orphan with big ambitions who grows up kicking against her traditional upbringing. But as the children approach adulthood, another story is taking shape. As the war looms, they are forced to take on unexpected roles they have never prepared for.
